Sat. 3/24 Partnership Dinner with James Jiler

Saturday, March 24th, 6-8pm at Mi Rinconcito Mexicano, 1961 SW 8th Street, Miami. Our guest speaker will be James Jiler, RPCV Nepal, who is currently the CEO of Native Splendor Design, a social enterprise that specializes in the design and installation of environmentally beneficial gardens, buildings, and urban landscapes. He also works with Urban GreenWorks which he founded in 2008. This organization integrates hands-on landscape design, garden installation and landscape management with at-risk youth and adults in the Florida State criminal justice system. He is author of “Doing Time in the Garden,” a narrative of his work building gardens with inmates on Rikers Island – NYC’s jail system. His extensive background and experience as an urban ecologist, here in South Florida as well as in NY, Baltimore, New Haven, Nepal and India, will certainly make for an interesting evening. Dinner will be a la carte, and we will collect $10 per person for a partnership program. Please RSVP by no later than Tuesday, March 20, to dorisvincent@bellsouth.net.
