Alana and I would love to attend the Holiday Party--and planned on it--until we realized it falls during the same weekend as Art Basel. Being our first year in Miami, we feel compelled to check out the festival activities and events this weekend. Sorry to miss this party, but look forward to many exciting RPCVSF events in 2012!! Happy Holidays, Brian and Alana

OUR LOCAL CHAPTER OF DINING FOR WOMEN IS INTERESTED IN CONNECTNG WITH SARAOSTA-BRADENTON AREA PRCV MEMBERS. PERHAPS YOU’D CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE FOR YOUR NEXT NEWSLETTER. WE’RE ALSO AVAILABLE FOR PRESENTATIONS. THANKS FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION!

Dining for Women is a 501C-(3) collective giving circle with local chapters through the US and expanding internationally. We “dine in” together once a month, each bringing a potluck dish to share, (optional ethnic recipes on website). Participants then donate their “dining out” dollars to preselected international programs empowering women.

Through our members’ combined dinner donations, we support grass-roots programs for women fostering good health, education, vocational training, micro-credit loans and economic development.

By educating our members about the circumstances of women living in some of the poorest countries in the world, our members become agents of change, inspired to make a difference through the power of collective giving. A video is shown at each dinner, highlighting the selected program and country.

Our vision is to create a new paradigm for giving–collective giving on a large scale–while maintaining the intimacy of small local groups with a focus on education and involved giving. Currently there is a downtown Sarasota chapter and a PalmAire chapter, each meets monthly for an ethnic potluck dinner.

Please come join us to empower third world women’s causes, enjoy ethnic food and meet like-minded, interesting women. Local contact is Beth Palmer at 941-400-5242 or email dfw.srq@gmail.com

We would love to join you all at Wine Depot this Friday, but alas, we will be up in Charleston, SC attending a friend's wedding. If you haven't been, Wine Depot is a great little spot with a wonderful courtyard (and only blocks from where we live)! See everyone soon at the general meeting! Cheers, Brian and Alana
